Our Aspen Honeymoon!

Two weeks ago, Kurt and I took the first part of our delayed honeymoon in Aspen, Colorado! During our time in colorful Colorado Kurt taught me how to cross-country ski, we enjoyed breath-taking scenery, and ate some delicious meals. It was a wonderful week of unplugging from our normal day-to-day lives.

In total, we had seven full days in Aspen, Snowmass and Basalt, and if we could have just stayed there forever I think we would have tried! We approached each day with a plan, while also leaving room for flexibility. Overall, I think this approach worked well for us - we were able to participate in local activities while also having time to relax each day. As a result, at the end of our time in Colorado we felt rested and not like we were in need of another vacation!

One of the things I loved most about the trip was getting to try something new with Kurt. Growing up, Kurt spent a lot of time both downhill and cross-country skiing with his family. But I had never stepped on skis before this week! While I'll admit I wasn't the most confident of students, Kurt's patience in teaching me how to cross-country ski was so wonderful. I'm not sure I'll ever become a regular skier, but at least I can say that I've done it now!

Here's a little video I made highlighting some of what we did and saw during our honeymoon. And below that, some of the favorite photos we took. Enjoy!

Kurt put together a fruit and cheese plate for our first night!
